SUMMARY:Hurricane Preparedness Seminar
DESCRIPTION:The City of Deltona will host its 2023 Hurricane Preparedness Seminar on Wednesday\, May 17.  The Seminar will take place in City Hall Commission Chambers from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  The main speaker for the seminar will be Spectrum News 13 Meteorologist Bryan Karrick. \nMr. Karrick is the Chief Meteorologist for Spectrum News 13.  He has more than 26 years of experience in weather forecasting.  Mr. Karrick will explain how severe weather systems form and share the forecast for the upcoming hurricane season. \nRepresentatives with Deltona’s Emergency Operations Center will have emergency supplies on display\, including a Hurricane Survival Kit.  The kit will show residents what items are recommended to have on hand before\, during and after a storm. \nMel Himes\, from Mel Himes and Associates Insurance Agency\, will offer general advice on what residents should do to make certain their insurance needs are up to date ahead of storm season. \nAll of the presenters will be available to answer questions from residents.  Attendees will also be entered into a drawing to win a weather radio. \nDeltona City Hall is located at 2345 Providence Blvd.  For more information on the event contact Catherine Barker at cbarker@deltonafl.gov.
